In partnership with the AVV, Audemars Piguet is once again participating in the 5th edition of the Art en Vieille Ville (Art in the Old Town) and is transforming its Boutique located at 12, Place de la Fusterie in Geneva into a showroom associating Fine Art with the Expertise of the Joux Valley watchmakers around a common theme entitled Le Temps au Féminin (Time in the Feminine Mode).

The warm and luminous setting of the Audemars Piguet boutique will welcome a number of original works loaned by the galleries partnering the Art en Vieille Ville festival: marble statues from the Hellenic, Ptolemaic periods, Art Deco fashion magazines, Cubist and African sculptures, a priceless painting by Pablo Picasso and original photographs from the 1940s. This temporal and spiritual journey will begin at the preview to be held at 6 pm on May 1st, and continue through to May 9th 2009.Some of the brand’s ladies’ watches, jealously safeguarded by the company museum, will be on show alongside these major works. Historical one-of-a-kind creations from the 1920s will thus rub shoulders with contemporary models from the Millenary, Royal Oak and Jules Audemars collections.“All these examples of art and horology symbolise femininity, grace and refinement. Whether icons of the present or of the distant past, they convey a single message: that of immutable time, that of the history of our civilisations and of its development through the decades”, said Philippe Merk, CEO of Audemars Piguet.Based on the theme entitled Le Temps au Féminin (Time in the Feminine Mode) the world of art meets that of Haute Horlogerie – two different worlds united in the same quest to express creative genius.
As the brand’s Swiss Market manager Nicolas Kappenberger explains: “It was entirely natural for Audemars Piguet to support and encourage this interesting AVV initiative which aims to promote Art and to stimulate interest among novices. Moreover, the artistic diversity, the quality of the works presented and the professionalism of the galleries in the old town of Geneva are all key elements in this endeavour”.Audemars Piguet therefore warmly invites you to discover this original exhibition entitled Le Temps au Féminin (Time in the Feminine Mode):
