The numerous dangers faced with steely bravery by military paratroopers, most notably the US Airborne divisions, has provided inspiration for a surprising new creation from luxury watch brand Bell & Ross. Limited to a series of 500 pieces, the Bell & Ross BR 01 Airborne watch proudly incorporates the potently evocative symbol of the skull and crossbones into its dial and 46mm BR Instrument case in black carbon powder coated stainless steel.  

A symbol of their constant proximity to death, as well as their ability to destroy an enemy behind his own lines with unparalleled stealth, the skull became a talisman for Airborne divisions operating during World War II. In the ensuing decades, it has seen frequent application on uniforms and berets of other specialized military units, as well as aircraft. Bell & Ross press material states, "The BR 01 Airborne is an anthem to the extraordinary saga of military paratroopers. This new watch is a tribute to those brave young men who fought in one of the toughest army corps, particularly the US Airborne divisions."

Underscoring its focus on the most serious of missions, the Bell & Ross BR 01 Airborne watch presents only the time. Animating these functions is the proven 21-jewel ETA 2892 caliber. The smooth glucydur balance alternates at a pace of 28,800 vibrations per hour. Power reserve is approximately 42 hours.  

The Bell & Ross BR 01 Airborne watch is water resistant to 100 meters, and is fitted with a shaped sapphire crystal. The timepiece is completed by a durable strap in rubber imprinted with the Bell & Ross logo, or an alternative in calf leather or synthetic fabric. In the same manner as other Instrument BR timepieces, straps for the BR 01 Airborne may be quickly and easily exchanged.
