Between technological innovation and classicism, the new DB25 from the DE BETHUNE collection is a perfect incarnation of the spirit of the Manufacture.

The latest of the DE BETHUNE DB25 family, this timepiece is fitted with a new hand-wound mechanical calibre with a power reserve of six days, developed on the basis of the DB2105 movement. Its silicon balance wheel, used for the first time in a production movement, is the current culmination of research undertaken since 2002 into the improvement of the oscillator, its precision of manufacture, its lightness and the optimisation of its inertia. Together with the balance spring with the DE BETHUNE flat terminal curve, the two items form an oscillating assembly which marks a further step forward in the long quest for isochronism, a precisely uniform rate.
The drum case in rose gold or grey gold with a diameter of 44.6mm houses a silvered gold dial “guilloche” entirely by hand. Through the dial appears the famous DE BETHUNE spherical moon in a sky flame-blued by hand and dotted with gold stars. Consisting of two hemispheres, one in steel and the other in platinum, this sphere is also flame-blued by hand and rotates on its own axis. This enables the various movements of this celestial body to be reproduced as an exact representation of what one can see in the sky. The mechanism for turning the sphere has been calculated so accurately that it will take 122 years for it to be out of step by a single day.
