In 2008, Breguet came up with an innovative way of designing minute repeater watches. The brand fitted its timepieces with re-engineered movements built from new materials and the gongs, gong rests and hammers positioned in an innovative way. The brand patented the technique and now it is used in Breguet minute repeater ref. 7639. 

The case of the new Breguet watch, 44.5 mm in diameter, is sculptured in 18K white gold. It is set with 178 baguette-cut diamonds (with a total weight of 11.81 carats). The rounded horns are welded to the case, with screw pins securing the strap.

The dial, also in 18K gold, is entirely paved with 392 princess-cut diamonds mounted in an invisible way upside down. The dial features the individual number of the timepiece and the name of the brand. The time is indicated by open-tipped Breguet hands in blued steel.

The crown of the timepiece, reviewed by Watches.InfoNIAC.com, is embellished with one diamond (with 0.46 carats weight). Yet, these are not all diamonds ‘worn’ by the timepiece. The white gold folding buckle is set with 42 diamonds! 

The total weight of the diamonds carried by the Breguet minute repeater is about 18 carats.

The Breguet minute repeater watchaccommodates a hand-wound minute repeater movement that may be admired through the clear sapphire case back. It is manually engraved with a one-of-a-kind musical decoration. The movement is numbered and signed with the name of the brand. The movement provides a 40-hour power-reserve.
